Tom Cannon

Tom Cannon

Bsc (Hons), FCIAT – Managing Director

Having founded CANNON Architectural Design Ltd in Late 2018, Tom has always been at the forefront of everything we do. Tom oversees the firms strategic visions and deals with upholding our award-winning service. He manages client relations and is involved in the implementation and delivery of all of our projects. Tom has a fantastic relationship with Local Authority planning and building control departments, and has become well known within his field.

He has a wealth of experience which has been gained over many years within the industry.

Having studied Architectural Technology at Nottingham Trent University, he graduated in 2016, whilst also working at a global Architectural Practice in London through his 2015 practice experience year. Post graduation, Tom worked for an award-winning bespoke housing developer, where he implemented Building Information Modelling (BIM) within the design and construction teams. Tom would work on his own planning applications, and also then managed the working drawings team later throughout his employment. Tom became a Chartered Architectural Technologist (MCIAT) in 2018, and then shortly after also receive Fellowship recognition (FCIAT) with the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists in 2021. This was received for significant contribution and experience within the Architectural Technology field.

The practice was founded in 2018, where Tom would work on projects in his evenings and weekends outside of employment. In 2020, the practice became extremely busy due to the reputation that had been built, and he implemented a practice expansion, where the practice employed both Gloria and Lisa, and we moved into our lovely studio in Spring 2021. Since then, the practice has gone from strength to strength and Tom ensures that everyone in the team is working on a variety of projects at a variety of different stages, to ensure that experience and knowledge is shared throughout the team as best as possible. Tom is the face of everything that we do, and is passionate about delivering quality design, with competitive fees. This has always been the business model that Tom wanted, and he is always exploring new ways to make us more efficient, and therefore, more competitive!
